I
finally met my supervisor today, and he was awesome (as every person
named K*** is). He had a bit of a sleepy look, and totally not a morning
person. K*** was still adjusting from coming back from vacation in
Puerto Rico. Funny thing, he switched to his current position one week
before leaving to PR... So we are both pretty new to this whole thing.
A little about my supervisor:
This guy has a pretty awesome background. After High School, he decided
to work instead of going to college. After a couple jobs, he started a
small job at the company his dad worked at (ionizer devices? they make
computer chips or something). One day, a machine broke down and people
were trying to fix it. Those people, went out to lunch, and K***wondered in and fixed the machine. Got hired for a better position
shortly after. He started working at **(company)** at the lab or something. Didn't
really like it as much, so he moved to the manufacturing department (3
weeks ago? I guess). He had done some overtime in this department, so knew a little bit about it. The guy is pretty awesome. Mechanical and
electrical things seem to come very naturally to him. He is also very
much into Matisyahu and has strong wanderlust.
So today, I
learned a little bit more about the other machines/devices. However, we
were both kind of... stuck. There really wasn't a lot to do since we
still need more parts .
Apparently he's ran into the same problems in the past. L**** (manager?) keeps bragging to the higher ups about how
I'm making the devices so fast XD.
I should update my LinkedIn. Position: Executive Assistant to the Manufacturing Department Head! Totally legit.
Ah right... today's word was: manhandle.
"K***, how do I get the cover off this device?"
"Just manhandle it a bit. Don't worry, it won't break"
".... k..."
