Day 39

April 17, 2014

>fixing a centrifuge
>putting it back together
>"Uh... K***, what are these screws for?"
>"Didn't I tell you? If you have extra pieces after fixing something, it isn't bad. You just made the machine more efficient since it never really needed those parts."

Today, K*** and I saved our company a couple thousands by fixing some lab devices :3. It was quite fun working with new machines.

Also, we're transferring the finished devices to our CEO's office since he's going on a vacation for  week. Next week's goal, make enough devices to cover all his windows.

Also, during my break time, I've been dabbling with google spreadsheets for my work schedule. The spreadsheet is based on a traditional 8hr work day and a 40 hr work week. I have to input time in and time out and it calculates: time worked, time over 8 hrs, time I should leave to meet 8hrs, time I should leave to use up past extra time, total hours worked in the week, total extra time that I can use up to meet the 40 hrs, etc. Kyle was looking at it yesterday, and today he jokingly said, "Wow, you got a lot of stuff there. Next thing you should put is the sun's position in the sky. Haha." I got a surprise for him tomorrow :3.

I'll post the spreadsheet sometime this weekend for people that have 40 hr work weeks. I still have a couple things I want to tweak.
